Friday was a source of serious anxiety for me... you see, I had a mission reunion. And mission reunions cause me anxiety. It used to be that I had anxiety about seeing my mission president because the ending of my mission was abrupt and unpleasant (well, unpleasant for me). After a year and a half I decided that I could either see my whole mission as a failure, or I could enjoy seeing my mission friends/president.
Then I was an IDIOT and dated my district leader... making mission reunions a little miserable all over again. Except Friday was actually kind of awesome. I had serious stress going into it. (You can talk to my BFFSF- best friend forever spanish fork) I'll spare you the gorey details. Let's just say that if Wednesday was a stomach display of pyrotechnics, Friday was the waterworks.
So we (BFFSF and I) showed up at the same time as the dl and his new wife. But he is a pansy and avoided me the entire night (even running down the hall past me to the other entrance to the other door). And... excuse me for my pettiness, but he got fat. (Bahahaha).
And I got asked to lead the music. And he creepily smiled at me the whole time (so i moved to the right so he was hidden behind someone else). I was a little worried he'd want to talk to me after (and I had decided what I would say, just in case- and it didn't include any profanity). But he was a pansy and avoided me.
I am just so very happy that things didn't happen between us, and that I'm good where I am in my life. It was maybe like I actually got a little closure. And it just makes me happy. Then they left early, so I could relax and enjoy myself.
It is kind of nice to have exciting plans (not just 'I'm in school') with my graduation and move to the east.
AND THEN
Sister Wallis told me I looked good! Now, I don't know about other people's mission president's wife, but it was the goal of all the sisters in my mission to have her say you looked good.
SUCCESS!
And the best part is, that it was the truth!
(Which is partially because there was an AWESOME sale at Down East and I got 2 new dresses and a plethora of shirts for $5 or less each!)
