Something about me that you may or may not know. I am a sucker for all things time wasting. I LOVE those stupid questionnaires that used to go around in email, then on facebook as notes, the lists, the quizzes, I just love them... I can't help it. So when I saw my friend Celeste doing this on her blog, well...
feel free to tune out for the next 30 days. See, I've been accused of being a narcissist but I know that not everyone cares about what's going on in my head...
DAY 1 {something you hate about yourself}
I remember in Kindergarten having the All about me posters they looked something like this:

There used to be a section on these posters for "things I don't like about myself" I think that I first noticed when my sister was in kindergarten that the teacher crossed that part off. I think that that is a smart thing to do; what five year old needs to tell all their peers what they don't like about themselves?! We live in this world where, from the time we are old enough to understand what is going on, we are constantly torn down. Everyone, but I think especially as women, are told we aren't good enough, smart enough, attractive enough, busy enough or connected enough; we have fallen short in some cosmic way. I'm tired of feeling that way! I read recently an article in the Ensign by Pat Holland (Elder Holland's wife) called One thing Needful: Becoming Women of Greater Faith in Christ. She said;
"If I were Satan and wanted to destroy a society, I think I would stage a full-blown blitz on women. I would keep them so distraught and distracted that they would never find the calming strength and serenity for which their sex has always been known."
Hello! Does this sound like our world? I think it does! I am distracted and distraught and seem to have a lack of calming strength and serenity in my life! I've got to find that! I got a letter from my friend Robert today and he said that we should wake up each morning and think "How can I offend satan today?" (Also, my sister drew and EPIC picture of her and her missionary friends and Elder Holland hiding under the bed waiting to jump out and scare satan, it was pretty sweet).
So... I won't be telling you something I hate about me because satan would like me to dwell on that.
I will tell you that even though life is a miriad of ups and downs (holy cow, the last 2 days have been a roller coaster!) I know that I am a daughter of Heavenly Parents who love me and want me to succeed. I am precious, and though I have (many) flaws, and shortcomings, there's nothing that I can't work on, nothing too big to overcome if I do it with the Lord.
I hope you all will enjoy the next 30 days! Here is the list:
