Last night I went to my friend J's house. He made me dinner (soup that was super yummy) and we were planning on watching a movie. However, after the soup and before the movie I was introduced to a beautiful thing called the Mancake (see photo above-- it just looks kind of like our mancake. I wish I'd taken a picture!). J's roommate M made them. They are essentially a super thick pancake with amazing fillings. For example, the one that J and I shared was a peanut butter- banana-pecan-chocolate chip mancake. J's roommates M and A shared one with caramel sauce in it. Apparently I am one of the few, brave women to attempt the mancake (or to have the chance to, at least). Alas, after a super filling soup, and a late snack, I was only able to manage to eat about half of my half of the mancake. I tried to let J eat it, but he insisted that I take it home (which was a good thing since it became my lunch today after a rushed morning). Finally, at 3:30 this afternoon, I succeeded in conquering the man cake. It only took me 18 hours.
I think... were I to have another mancake, I would put blueberries, fudge sauce (in a swirl, not stirred all the way in) and pecans in it. For a chocolatey-fruity-crunchy delicious treat. Or apples and cinnamon and brown sugar or... the possibilities are endless!
Doesn't that sound good?
That sounds quite fantastic!
