The new house in MD is significantly smaller, or rather, more compact, than our house in CO, but the interesting thing is that there is a significant lack of sitting places here. Part of that is because the kitchen table/chairs and living room couches were free-cycled. The family room couch is now in the sun porch downstairs, but it's in a weird, out of the way place. The dining room table only has 4 chairs (and there are 5 of us living here...). Perhaps the thing that has affected me the most is that the room for me ended up being too small for a bed, so it's turned into a sitting room. But for the first 10 days here, there was nowhere to sit! Finally, Monday we loaded up the kids in the van and went to the FUTON shop. (A futon is prime in the event of the company). So we went and sat on all 8 varieties of mattresses. then decided on a frame.
There were two problems:
1: The entire futon wouldn't fit in the van with the two kids in it.
2: The futon mattress we chose (#6) was out of stock! (which kind of eliminated the #1 issue)
So now I'm sitting on couch pillows on a beautiful teak finish futon. The couch pillows are significantly less comfortable than mattress #6, FYI.
Anyway, this is just a long winded introduction to the reason for this post:
Enjoy!
