In a continuance of last week's post, the following conversation ensued:
"Not to pressure you or anything, but I can only come back to the states if someone gets married or dies. Tatiana is out of the question for 18 months old, and I want to get back there before next fall. I'd rather someone didn't die."

Have I mentioned that I really like this woman?
I do, and her son.
Is it cultural for a latino's mother to do this? This is just so outside the norms of social acceptance as I understand it in my happy little world.
